Sandbox

Infants

Our infant room is designed to to allow your child to satisfy their curiosity and ignite learning in a safe and secure area. We provide a warm and welcoming environment that supports our infants’ growth and development. We use primary care, assigning staff to each infant in order to build positive and trusting relationships and to meet their individual needs.

Toddlers and Two’s

We offer three toddler groups and three two year old groups. Children are placed in a group depending on a variety of criteria such as  their age/birthdate, full or part time sessions, days they attend, whether potty trained or not and how long they have been in our program.

Preschool (Three and Four Year Old)

Our Preschool Program is play based while exposing children their reading readiness and math readiness through hands on experiences. We believe that creative environments, while engaged in a variety of developmentally appropriate activities, stimulates a child’s mind and allows opportunities for social / emotional learning.

Outdoor Facilities

The Sandbox has two outdoor playgrounds, which are used to separate the age groups. The playgrounds include sandboxes, porches, tree houses, swings, tires, tunnels, merry-go-rounds, a patio for wagons and bikes, and plenty of shade. We also have a secure, separate swimming/wading pool for seasonal fun.

Art & Music

We believe that art and music education is equally important as math and science. Studies have shown that such creative learning facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills such as language development, spatial-temporal, and improved test scores.

Sandbox Clubhouse

Pre-K and After School

The Clubhouse is divided up into three activity centers. The M&M has blocks, dramatic play, music, computers, and science. The Discovery room enables children to work on their math and reading skills, circle time, games, and puzzles. The Art Studio is packed full of arts and crafts that encourage children to create and experiment.

Outdoor Facilities

The outdoor facilities at the Clubhouse include an enormous, shaded playground, swings, climbing tires, pedal and balance bikes, a basketball hoop, a garden, enclosed and secure swimming pool (for seasonal fun), and an indoor rock climbing area. Children are encouraged to climb, dig, swing, build and learn to play together.

Events

The Sandbox Tucson holds many events and field trips throughout the year. Children learn memorization and participation through song and dance, and older children get to experience field trips to Pumpkin Farms, the Tucson Symphony and other fun, educational locations. Here is a small sampling of the fun events and trips at the Sandbox.
