Programs & Curriculum

As our youngest children progress through the program, they are introduced to the basic love of books, the printed language, number concepts, science experiments, block building, following directions, listening skills, art and music. We believe the parents are the child’s first teacher and since a true love of learning comes from the home as well, parents are encouraged to “role model” as readers, listeners and partners in discovery and play. Being a “team-member” at home helps reinforce what happens at school, ensuring a well-balanced, exciting, and successful journey through childhood.

For children aged two and up, The Sandbox Early Childhood Learning Center Enrichment program consists of daily art and music classes. Transition to different rooms for these activities helps children enlarge their learning environment, and parents are encouraged to bring their child to the center on time to allow participation in these activities.

Assessments and screenings of children will be on-going throughout the year. Assessments are used to guide classroom instruction as well as the Arizona Early Learning Standards.

The Sandbox Tucson is split into two main buildings:

  1. The original Sandbox offers Infants, Toddlers, Two’s and Preschool programs
  2. Sandbox Clubhouse offers Pre-K and After-School programs.
